Terms of Service

DRAFT — pending legal review (S-Legal-3). This outline shows the intended shape of the terms; the reviewed text replaces it before commercial launch.

The final Terms of Service will cover, in plain language:

  • Who we are — the operating entity ("[Legal name] doing business as Smritsavant", Canada), completed when entity formation (S-Legal-1) closes.
  • The license — perpetual, per the licensing docs: one-time purchase, device slots, upgrade credit, major-version policy (only the latest major receives updates; 90-day grace after a new major ships; purchased versions run forever).
  • The trial — 14 days full-featured, then read-only with export and deletion always available.
  • Acceptable use — don't resell licenses, don't circumvent the license system; no restrictions on what you write.
  • Warranties and liability — the app is provided as-is within the limits of applicable law; because notes are stored locally, backups are your responsibility (the app provides tools).
  • Refunds — per the refund policy.
  • Governing law — Canadian province of the operating entity, pending S-Legal-1.
